Women of the Way 2020 has taken a big U-turn! We had a great first sessions (see some pictures here). Then, we tried to meet for the 2nd week but had to cancel at the last minute. Like everyone else, we’ve had to regroup. So, we ARE meeting for week 3 on Facebook Live on the WoW TN page here.
As we gather in a different form, a look back helps me remember WHY we meet together.
More than 9 years ago, this idea of women from different churches coming together has grown and blossomed into such a beautiful gathering of the Body of Christ!
Each year, I love seeing women connecting, making friends, getting to know each other. We are inspired by the messages from amazing speakers and learn about the organizations that accomplish such great work in our community.
My favorite thing though?…….Oh……my absolute favorite thing about WoW is at the end of each session. We all hold hands with each other, and we say in unison the one prayer that brings us all together.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom Come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who’ve trespassed against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen
It’s one of the MOST beautiful things to experience in a church setting.
Maybe it’s just me…..but it feels like the Father is just smiling down on us. It feels like the unity of his daughters radiates such pleasure from Him!
And that’s why, I believe, you need to be more interdenominational.
Gathering with other believers brings unity, oneness, and love.
It reminds us that we are part of The Body of Christ, not just our own denomination.
It calls us to something bigger than our own little corner of the world making us more aware of how the Spirit is working all around us!
To help you be more interdenominational, I put together this free ebook Building Unity in the Body of Christ” to describe why I feel unity and oneness in the Church is so important with prayers and Scripture to prepare your heart. Click on the link to download your copy here.
You can also get your own copy of “Building Unity” on some practical ideas on how to actually experience more unity with other believers.
In this season of social distancing and online church, you’ve got a unique opportunity to put some of these suggestions in the e-book into practice. I encourage you to visit other church services as they post them online! What an easy way to experience other pastors, sermons, liturgies, and worship services! I’d love to hear your thoughts about it.
Yes! Each of our own churches and ministries are so vital and important. I don’t want to take away from that, but taking some time to be with other believers has the potential to revive us in a unique way to keep pursuing our mission!!!
I really hope to see you at WoW 2020 on the Facebook page! God has always been faithful each year, and I anticipate this year to be no exception!!
Download that ebook too! I would love to hear if they were helpful to you!
